Stone benchtops are one of the largest single investments in any Auckland kitchen, and they should be repaired before they're replaced. Across the past two decades we've restored thousands of Auckland benchtops — engineered stone, granite, marble, quartzite, dolomite, limestone and increasingly sintered surfaces — and the vast majority of damage we see is fixable on-site without removing the slab.

Engineered stone (Caesarstone, Silestone, Smartstone, Essastone, Quantum Quartz, Stoneworks and others) makes up the bulk of modern Auckland kitchens, and the bulk of our repair workload. Engineered surfaces don't need sealing, but they do chip — especially along exposed edges near dishwashers, ovens and island corners. We carry a deep colour-match library and tint stone-grade resin on-site to match each slab's exact base colour, fleck pattern and finish. Most engineered-stone chip repairs are completed in a single visit and are invisible at normal viewing distance.

Natural stone sits at the heart of what we do. Granite chips fill cleanly and almost always disappear into the stone's natural movement. Marble is more demanding — surface etching from lemon juice, wine and household cleaners requires honing back the affected zone, re-polishing and re-sealing — but the results restore the stone's original lustre and last for years. Quartzite and dolomite respond beautifully to deep polishing. Limestone, travertine and onyx are treated with conservation-grade care for heritage Auckland homes.

Crack repair deserves its own paragraph. Cracks around cooktop cut-outs, sink cut-outs and unsupported spans are the most structurally serious issue we see. We stabilise the crack with structural resin, bridge the cut-out where necessary, and polish the repair flush with the surrounding surface. Where a crack indicates a deeper installation fault — substrate movement, inadequate support, manufacturing defect or impact-related failure — we provide a written crack investigation report that homeowners can use with their builder, installer or insurer.

Insurance work is a steady part of our Auckland practice. Every repair we carry out includes the documentation your insurer expects: before-and-after photography, a clear written scope of work, an itemised quote and a completion report.
